Product Description The JET ZX Series Large Spindle Bore Lathe provides power, precision, efficiency, and reliability to your metal shop. A one-piece cast iron base absorbs vibrations during operation to allow heavier cuts and ensure accuracy, while the universal gearbox eliminates the need to change gears. This lathe also features a 10" 3-jaw scroll chuck with top reversing jaws, and an e-stop on the carriage for increased operator safety. The 3-1/8" spindle bore is supported by two tapered and one ball bearing, while the headstock gears are hardened, ground, shaved and composed of chrome molybdenum. The universal gearbox allows inch, metric, diametral, and module pitch threads with no change of gears required. The carriage features one-shot lubrication, Turcite-B on bed sliding surfaces, and five position automatic carriage stops to increase productivity. The T-slotted compound slide features a four-way tool post. A removable gap allows up to 23-5/8" diameter work. The high quality ANSI Class 50 wear-resistant cast iron bed ways are hardened and ground, while the one-piece cast iron base absorbs vibration allowing for heavier cuts.
